mop's demise

on

You know how I have this white tile kitchen floor in my new house and it shows every speck of dirt and I like to whine about that a lot?

Well, here is proof of just how often I have to mop that blasted floor just to keep it at a minimum standard of cleanliness, so I'm not grossed out when I walk in there barefoot: I have actually worn out a mop from cleaning so often.

The spongy part is all smooshed and flattened and crumbling away before my eyes. This mop was brand new six months ago, and I have worn it to shreds.

Now maybe you other ladies are better housekeepers than I am and you regularly reduce your cleaning tools to smithereens from the frequency of your cleaning, but not me. This is a first for me. Up until we moved to this house, my mopping was...let's just say it was less frequent. And now, here I am, wearing my mop right out.

Of course, maybe it was just a cheap mop.

I hate to admit it, but I don't even own a mop! When things get bad I'll hand-scrub the floor but that doesn't happen often! Yikes!

I bet that will all change when my little girl starts to crawl :)
